Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Parts of the Capital Region Thursday

Here's where and when to be on the lookout

Portions of the lower Capital Region counties including Albany, Rensselaer, Schoharie, Greene and Columbia are under the threat of strong thunderstorms Thursday afternoon. 

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for all of the above counties as well as the Hudson Valley, Connecticut and Massachusetts until 10pm Thursday. 

Forecasters warn strong winds up to 70mph can be expected in some areas, hail, and frequent lightning strikes.
