Major Flooding Shuts Down Popular Downtown Albany Restaurant

News 10 Video

Want some oysters? It's gonna be a minute.

Robert Hazel was one of the many crew members on site when a pipe burst at Jack's Oyster House Thursday. The flooding was so severe, he told News 10 there was more than four feet of water in the basement. He said the pump in the basement couldn't keep up with the amount of water pouring in.

Crews had to shut the water off completely on that portion of State Street, which affected several other businesses as well.

The above floors were not impacted by the flooding, but the restaurant is temporarily closed until work can be completed and the basement can be cleaned.
