Sly’s Icy Plunge Leads to Police Debut as he Gallops into Duty

After a dramatic rescue from an icy pond this past February, Sly the horse is set to make a triumphant return—this time, as an official member of the Saratoga Springs Police Department. The same officers who braved the frozen waters to save Sly’s life will welcome him into their ranks during a special ceremony at High Rock Park on Friday, June 27. What began as a life-or-death moment has transformed into a powerful symbol of partnership and perseverance, as Sly trades near-tragedy for a new role in community service.
