Police are asking drivers to avoid the area

Update 202pm: In a Facebook post Friday afternoon, the Town of Ballston confirms there were no serious injuries. 

Update 1:43pm: NewsChannel 13's Dan Levy says the fire could have been a major disaster if crews hadn't arrived when they did. Two cars were destroyed in the blaze.

Update 12:17pm: The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office says a few people sustained minor injuries, but not serious. 

Update 11:37am: Photos shared from CBS 6 show the fire under control, but several gas pumps and at least one vehicle have been destroyed

Firefighters are trying to get control of a blaze raging at the USA Gas Station at the corner of Route 50 and Route 67 in Ballston Spa. CBS 6 reports one of the gas pumps caught fire and spread.

Photos from the scene show a series of gas pumps, the canopy and at least two vehicles in flames. 

The fire started around 10:30 - large plumes of smoke can be seen from far distances. Police are asking drivers to use other routes.
