The first event is scheduled for the September 6th

On Thursday, the ribbon was officially cut at the brand new M&T Bank Center in Schenectady. Located right next to Rivers Casino, the new arena will host concerts, Union Hockey, conventions and expos.

The first event will take place on September 6th with country star Lee Brice performing the inaugural show. Union Hockey will have their first game on September 26th. In addition, the ice rink will also be open select days and hours for public staking.

The 97,000 square foot facility can accommodate 2,200 for hockey games and approximately 3,400 for concerts. Each side of the arena has a counter for concessions as well as a full service bar at the very end.

Still under construction is a new Hyatt Hotel, being built next to the center, that's expected to open later in 2025.
