Here's what to expect

We're heading into the weekend in the middle of another heat wave around the Albany area. Temps have been in the low 90's with heat index temps feeling closer to 100. Lots of humidity as well, making outdoor activities a little less desirable.

A heat advisory is in effect until 8pm Friday for parts of the area including Albany, Rensselaer, Columbia and Greene counties.

The potential for severe storms is also a threat for the afternoon and evening hours. Most of the Capital Region is in the 'marginal risk' zone for Friday. The National Weather Service says strong winds, up to 60mph, can be be expected.
