So what's next for the Queensbury theme park?
Six Flags is selling 7 of their theme parks across America, The Great Escape in Queensbury is one of them. The amusement company says a group called EPR Properties will take over operations for 2026. So what can we expect? In a post on the Six Flags website, they say most operations will be status quo for the 2026 season.
- All seven parks will continue normal operations through the 2026 season.
- All 2026 season passes and active memberships will be honored throughout 2026, including multi‑park access.
- EPR retains the right to use the Six Flags brand through 2026, which means you will continue to see the same names, signage, and experiences during this transition period.
Other parks being sold include Michigan's Adventure, Schlitterbahn Water Park in Galveston Texas, Six Flags La Ronde in Montreal, Six Flags St. Louis, Valleyfair in Minneapolis and Worlds of Fun in Kanas City.
Although the Six Flags name is expected to be used in 2026, the Times Union reports an application has been filed by EPR Properties to use the name 'Enchanted Parks Great Escape Lodge'.
So at least for the 2026 season, it sounds like business as usual for the Great Escape.
