If you can give blood, do so. The American Red Cross needs it badly.
The American Red Cross is increasing the push for blood donors, as they face a severe blood shortage.
According to their website, requests from hospitals are exceeding the current available supply. The blood supply is down 35% from the past month, and with cold weather and a massive winter storm cancelling blood drives in the Southern, Eastern and Midwest U.S., that need has only grown.
To find a blood drive near you, go to the American Red Cross's website at redcrossblood.org. Or you can call 1-800-RED-CROSS to find a drive near you.
