The Beatles sued Nike 39 years ago today, 7-28-87
They were unhappy that “Revolution” was used in a Nike commercial
Not really much they could do about it, since Michael Jackson owned the rights to the song by then. Nike agreed to not renew the contract, after the current set of commercials was done airing.
