July 23rd is National Vanilla Ice Cream Day! Vanilla ice cream has gotten a reputation for being a bit plain, especially when compared to its more “exciting” siblings – chocolate, strawberry, mint chip, and cookie dough. But today is vanilla ice cream’s day to shine (or is that, ‘melt?’)!

In the modern day, vanilla remains a favorite as it takes 33% of market sales, while chocolate follows with 19%.
