SLA is recommending charges be filed

Two businesses in Albany County, Noor Mart in Watervliet and Island Spirits LLC. in Cohoes, failed an underage drinking compliance check conducted by the New York State Liquor Authority. The SLA reported that these businesses sold alcohol to a minor, violating the New York Beverage Control Law. Employees or licensees who sell alcohol to minors can face arrest and charges, with penalties of up to $10,000 in civil fines. The SLA recognized several other licensed storefronts in Albany County for their compliance with the law. Two licensees have not been formally charged, but the SLA is recommending charges be filed.
