State Police are also seeking video footage or eyewitness accounts of a vehicle, as part of the investigation.
The New York State Police are continuing their investigation into the death of Melina Frattolin, a 9-year-old girl whose father, Luciano Frattolin, has been charged in connection with her death.
According to the Times Union, State Police are actively investigating the path Frattolin may have taken along the I-87 Northway before his daughter’s death. Police are conducting searches and maintaining a heavy presence between Exit 28 (North Schroon Lake: US 9, NY 74 to Ticonderoga) and Exit 20 (Fort Ann, Queensbury, Lake George, NY 149 & US 9). Authorities emphasize that there is no threat to the public, but drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible or to use caution if travel is necessary.
As part of the ongoing investigation, New York State Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating video evidence or eyewitness accounts of the vehicle involved—a 2024 gray Toyota Prius—during the period of July 11 to July 19, 2025, particularly on the evening of July 19 along the I-87 corridor mentioned above.
If you have any relevant information, you are asked to contact New York State Police at 518-873-2750 or email crimetip@troopers.ny.gov.
This remains an active and developing investigation.
