With a $1.8 million price tag
A staple in Albany's downtown restaurant scene is seeking a new owner. McGeary's Irish Pub on Clinton Avenue has been listed for sale by its current owner, Tess Collins.
Collins tells News 10 she's selling the pub to focus on a smaller neighborhood type of bar, as well as her Colonie Music School, the Albany Rock Pit.
According to the Howard Hanna real estate site, the building was built in 1832 and sits at the heart of Albany's theater district. The sale includes the building and the restaurant, which also comes with an office on the second floor and apartment on the third floor.
The bar comes with all the equipment, the space, the kitchen, the patio - it's a turnkey operation. Tess says she'll continue to operate McGeary's until its sold.
