Celebrate National Hunting & Fishing Day on September 27 with a free fishing day in New York, allowing everyone to freshwater fish without a license. This initiative aims to promote outdoor recreation and appreciation for nature. DEC Commissioner Amanda Lefton encourages both newcomers and experienced anglers to enjoy the state's abundant waterways. Free Fishing Days support Governor Kathy Hochul's "Get Offline, Get Outside" initiative, promoting physical and mental health through outdoor activities.
