Delmar Woman Accused in Piggy Bank Attack

A Delmar woman, Ashley Close, was arrested in Greenfield for allegedly throwing a piggy bank at a person, causing injury. The incident occurred at Annacrest Drive around 1:08 a.m. Close is facing charges for intentionally causing physical injury with a dangerous instrument and violating an order of protection. She also allegedly attempted to place the victim in fear by swinging a croquet mallet and damaging their belongings. Close was arraigned in Greenfield Town Court and released pending further proceedings.
