Over 50 people were reportedly on board
Update 4:55pm: Doctors from the Erie County Medical Center held a press conference Friday afternoon to discuss the crash
Emergency crews are on the scene of a tour bus that rolled over around 12:40pm Friday. It happened on I-90 in the Genesee County town of Pembroke near Buffalo. New York State Police say 52 people were on board the bus, which was believed to be headed to New York City from Niagara Falls. At least one child has been confirmed dead, though there is believed to be multiple casualties. Police say every person on board suffered some kind of injury.
WIVB in Buffalo says the bus contained tourists from India, China and The Philippines. Translators had to be brought to the scene to break down the language barrier.
The bus reportedly lost control and flipped over into a ditch, no other vehicles were hit. Governor Kathy Hochul posted on X that she has been briefed on the accident.
I’ve been briefed on the tragic tour bus accident on the @NYSThruway.
