Burger Battle Heats Up with Two Capital Region Spots in Top 10

The New York Beef Council has announced the Top 10 finalists in the Best New York Burger Competition, and two Capital Region gems have made the cut! Illusive Restaurant & Bar in Rensselaer and Savoy Taproom in Albany are now in the running for burger glory. These finalists were chosen for their outstanding flavor, top-notch quality, and the passion poured into every patty. A panel of judges will soon visit the restaurants to assess taste, presentation, and doneness, with the winner to be revealed on May 13 as part of the May Beef Month Celebration. In 2024, Chatham Brewing was the lone Capital Region establishment to make the top 10—and went on to win the competition. Could one of these local spots follow in their meaty footsteps?
