More Information (Magic 100.5 is not responsible for external websites)
Gospel artists have crossed over into classic rhythm and blues, and many secular artists have recorded gospel songs. I examine artists such as Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, and Jerry Garcia who worked to blur the lines defining these musical genres. I also reflect on the pioneers of early gospel music, and sprinkle in what we call Barrelhouse Hymns- classic Christian hymns arranged in a blues style. Join us for a celebration of music that moves body, spirit, and soul!
