Happy National Coffee Day! According to Good News Network, engineers in Australia have used discarded coffee grounds to strengthen concrete. Nearly 11 million tons of coffee grounds are discarded annually and the grounds can emit gases that are bad for the environment. Including them in concrete can reduce these emissions, and reduce the billions of tons of natural sand required to be mined for concrete every year.
