It's been an inconvenient travel week for those going to and from New York City using Amtrak. Service from Albany-Rensselaer to Penn Station in had to be rerouted as of Sunday when parking garage along the tracks in NYC became structurally unstable. Concerns that debris could land on or near the track caused Amtrak to cancel service below the stop at Croton-Harmon in Westchester County.

Travelers looking to get to the city from Albany-Rensselaer were forced to change trains north of Croton to the Metro North rail.

Amtrak says crews have stabilized the parking garage and service to Penn Station will resume starting Thursday (11/15), although they say work will continue on the tracks and the building. Passengers should expect delays until Saturday when work is complete.
