Remembering the snow storm that hit the Capital Region 37 years ago.

If you were in The Capital Region in 1987 then it's safe to say that you remember the freak snow storm that hit the area on October 4th.

The storm seemed to really come out of nowhere and pounded the area with around 6 1/2 inches of snow. At the time it was the earliest measurable amount of show that we had gotten. The combination of the wet, heavy snow and the fact that the trees still had their leaves, caused many branches to fall and brought down power lines all over the area. When all was said and done, there were over 200,000 people left without power and ended up causing 4 deaths.

Let's take a look back at some of the coverage that we all saw on this day, 37 years ago.
