New 'Warming Hut' Opens at Popular Capital Region Trail

NY State Parks & Historic Sites via Facebook

If you're cross-country skiing our just out for a walk, here's where to go

John Boyd Thacher State Park has a fantastic new addition for visitors this winter—the Hop Field Warming Hut! The new  1,250-square-foot space includes a wood-burning fireplace, year-round restrooms, and even books and board games to make your day out in the snow extra special. A great spot to relax after your trek along the trails.

The hut will be open daily from 7:30am to 5pm, with the fire burning on weekends.
