News 10 Video

The tree was selected in 2022 as the Rockefeller Christmas Tree

A seasonal story with local roots is bringing the Holiday spirit of Queensbury to readers nationwide. Two Glens Falls natives, Mary Jean DeSantis and Anthony Richichi, teamed up to create a children’s book titled The 91st Tree from Queensbury. The story follows the 2022 Rockefeller Christmas tree's journey, starting in Queensbury and ending with its display at New York City's iconic Rockefeller Center. DeSantis and Richichi, who have collaborated before, hope to preserve the tree’s legacy through this charming storybook, telling News 10

To have it lit in Rockefeller Center, with millions enjoying it, is so special for our hometown.

The 2022 Rockefeller Christmas tree captured hearts across the nation, including those of young Queensbury residents. One standout fan, six-year-old Delaney, became an inspiration for the book due to her excitement when the tree was selected. Co-author DeSantis said:

This book is perfect for families who want to celebrate the magic of Christmas and the pride of upstate New York.

The book is available on Amazon
