Snow totals have been upped in some areas

Update 12/5 11:52am: Snow showers are moving through the area Thursday accompanied by strong wind gusts up to 35mph, which could cause visibility problems when driving in some areas.

Our next Capital Region snowstorm is knocking at our door. Snow is expected to begin falling Wednesday night and into Thursday. Add to that, a wind advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for the entire area. Gusts up to 50 mph are possible with the storm.

The National Weather Service has also increased snow totals to 2-3 inches in the immediate Capital Region, while areas of Fulton, Rensselaer,  Saratoga, Warren and Washington counties may see upwards of 10 inches.

Wind is expected to pick up during the morning commute Thursday and last until the late evening. Combined snow and wind conditions could cause treacherous driving conditions. The possibility of widespread power outages can't be ruled out since tree limbs will become weighted down enough to knock down power lines.

Stay safe!
