NewsChannel 13 Video

It happened early Thursday morning

A number of fire departments were on the scene Thursday morning when a building that housed two businesses exploded shortly after 3am. The building, located at 113 Everett Road, is home to Pad Thai Noodle Restaurant and The Healing Meals.

According to NewsChannel 13, the blast caused 'catastrophic' damage and will have to be torn down.

Crews were able to get the fire out quickly upon arrival. They say nobody was in the building at the time and no injuries were reported. A number of surrounding businesses are also closed for the day - For most of the morning, Everett Road was closed between Albany-Shaker and Russell Roads.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, but early reports indicate it may have been caused by a natural gas leak.
