The infant was found alone, crying only five feet from the water

New York State Police were called to the area of Lake Shore Drive in Lake George on Tuesday evening after someone reported an infant was alone on the beach, very close to the water.

The person heard the baby crying for an extended period of time and called police. Troopers say the baby's parents, Paul and Mary Thorley of Mount Pocono, PA, left the child on the beach for about 15 minutes while they went boating.

The parents were arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. They're due in Lake George Town court on January 27th.
