Capital Region's 1st Winter Storm of 2025 Approaching, What to Know

Winter Storm Warning has been issued.

The first significant snow storm of 2025 is knocking at our door. The latest models from the National Weather Service show parts of the Capital Region as much as 7 inches of snow. 

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for parts of the area, with snow expected to begin Sunday afternoon and becoming heavy in the nighttime hours. 

Though road crews will prepare and work through the storm, the amount of snow is expected to impact the morning commute on Monday.
