A new air carrier is setting up shop in Albany
You can soon travel from the capital of New York to the capital of North Carolina, direct. Avelo Airlines will begin offering non-stop flights between Albany and Raleigh-Durham on May 10.
Flights will be offered twice weekly, Mondays and Fridays. One way flights will start with an introductory price at $62.
Phil Calderone, the Albany International Airport CEO said in a statement Thursday:
We are thrilled that Avelo Airlines is joining us at ALB and will be providing nonstop service to and from Raleigh, North Carolina (RDU) – one of our airport’s top unserved destinations. Securing Avelo is a sure sign of confidence in the exciting growth at our airport and in our community. This nonstop flight will place you in North Carolina’s Research Triangle in just a couple of hours, providing great connectivity between two capital cities and high-tech regions. ALB is truly ‘Going Places’ and we look forward to our partnership with Avelo Airlines to offer increased connectivity and services to Capital Region travelers.
Avelo Air is a low cost carrier that touts no change or cancelation fees. Flights can be booked now at AveloAir.com.
