The taco is being elevated to museum status. El Museo del Taco in Tijuana, deconstructs a taco into nine interactive rooms where visitors can learn everything from how to light the charcoal for the carne asada to how to make corn tortillas. Antonio Gamboa, general director of the Museo del Taco explained, “This is a place for the whole family, where they can learn a little bit more about tacos.” The tour winds through different rooms: coal, tortilla, meat, avocado, salsa, onions, taquería, adobada. Each room has a small plaque with a QR code to learn more about the theme. Each stop has been designed as an Instagram-worthy photo-op as well. The first floor of the museum also has its own taqueria. What's your favorite food? How long has it been your fave? What was your favorite food as a kid?
