Over 200,000 meals will be distributed
The Regional Food Bank is gearing up to host the largest Thanksgiving meal distribution in New York State, providing 30-pound ingredient packages to families in need at over a dozen sites in the Capital Region. The packages will include turkey, ham, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, vegetables, fruit, potatoes, and dessert. The organization plans to distribute around 231,000 meals to 50,000 people in several counties and deliver meals to senior citizen sites. This effort is part of a larger initiative to serve 350,000 meals in the Regional Food Bank's service area, addressing the increased demand and challenges faced by families and food banks. Food distribution will begin at 10 a.m. on November 22 on a first-come, first-served basis at various locations.
