Colonie, Be Prepared to Boil Water Through the Weekend

If you live or work in the Colonie area, you already know about the boil water emergency due to a pump failure at the Mohawk View Water Treatment Plant. The Latham Water District discovered the problem Friday night and is continuing to work on fixing it.

Until then, guidelines from the Albany County Health Department require that the water be continuously tested for two more days. It is strongly recommended that you boil your water for at least two minutes before drinking or using to prepare food through Sunday.

Water for showering or washing dishes should be ok as long as you have a sanitizer.
