After closing in April of 2021 due to ice damage from the lake and an act of vandalism, the town of Ballston hopes to have the new pier ready to use before the end of May.
Ballston Mayor Eric Connolly declared the old, damaged pier a public safety concern, which sped up construction on the new dock. Workers will install a temporary replacement in April, with the final pieces to be put in place between May 15 and 18.
The new pier will be handicap accessible, wider, and feature two launches for kayaks, canoes and small boats.
