WATCH: Upstate NY Bald Eagle Couple Argue How to Build Nest

Designing a home is never easy, and if you’re part of the animal kingdom, you likely don’t have the luxury of hiring a designer or architect. And so it goes, as this couple is putting their nest together, they just can’t come to an agreement on where to place a particular stick.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation shared this video on its Facebook page. The two birds were caught on camera at a nest located in Cobleskill.

One eagle wants to place it on the left, the other on the right. A bit of non-verbal bickering ensues as they steal the stick from one another. Eventually, it appears the stick was permanently placed on the right side of the nest. Though there was probably some tension in that home for the remainder of the evening.

According to the DEC, bald eagles have made an incredible comeback since nearing extinction. In 1976 there was only one pair of bald eagles known to be nesting in New York. As of 2015, there are nearly 400 statewide territories in which they live.
