New Yorkers will once again be able to legally burn off some steam as gyms and fitness centers will soon get the green light. Gov. Andrew Cuomo says it could happen by Sept. 2 and as soon as Aug. 24.
There are some caveats, though.
Capacity will be limited to one-third and masks must be worn at all times. The New York Times reports sign-in sheets also be mandatory to aid in contact tracing. And before any facility can reopen, local governments must complete inspections to ensure state requirements are met.
What do you think about wearing a mask while working out? Did you purchase in-home workout equipment during the pandemic? Have you found ways to keep in shape that don’t require a membership? Will fitness centers struggle in the wake of COVID-19 because of this?
