New research suggests the virus “does not spread easily” from surfaces – although the CDC still recommends washing hands and sanitizing regularly. However, the virus spreads “very easily and sustainably between people” through respiratory droplets spread by coughing, sneezing, or talking – which makes facemasks and social distancing even more important.
