Jay and Ben

Jay and Ben (Weekdays 5:30- 10a)

Jay and Ben have been hosting the Magic in the Morning show since 2001 and are currently proud to enjoy the reign of the longest running morning show in the Capital Region.

Jay Scott:

I am a native of Boston, MA (and needless to say a big Red Sox fan).

I have lived in the Capital Region since coming from WHYN in Springfield, MA in 1980 and have been fortunate to have been waking up listeners for more than 30 years in the Capital Region with a topical, informative and fun morning show.

I invite you to tune in weekday mornings starting at 5:30 for the “Secret Sound/Voice”, “Almost Impossible Question” and “The Mystery Oldie” to name a few.

When I am not on the air, I spend my time with my lovely and beautiful wife Susan and our cats Honey and Whiskers and our four legged friend Skeeter. I also enjoy spending time with my children and 5 grandchildren Kyrah, Sage, Ethan, Sebastien and Aydan.

Thanks for visiting the Magic website and for listening to Magic 590 and albanymagic.com..

Ben Patten:

Some tidbits on me

I always wanted to be in radio ever since I pretended I was Casey Kasem in my parents’ living room in Cobalt, Connecticut when I was ten.  The last 8 1/2 years spent as the co-host of the Magic in the Morning Show with my buddy and morning host Jay Scott.  I also enjoy bringing you the “Greatest Memories of All Time” mid-days from 10 to 2 including the Magic Lunch Break from Noon to 1.

I have lived in Hoosick Falls since December of 1988 and although I currently live in New York, I am a Red Sox Fan.  However, I am also a Giants, Knicks (Ouch) and Carolina Hurricanes (old Hartford Whalers) fan…  Go figure!

My wife Laurie and I have been married since December of 1983 and we have 2 children.  My Daughter Amanda, is a 3nd year 2nd grade schoolteacher at St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls and my son Brett is 3rd year college student and an R.A. (Resident Assitant) at SUNY Institute of Technology in Utica, studying computers.  Laurie is the Head Teller at the Trustco Bank Branch in Schaghticoke.  Our 2 cats Tiger and Urkel are still hanging in there at almost 20 years old each.

Thank you for your patronage to Magic 590am and for checking out the website.
